About the role:
This role is responsible for the accurate reporting of stock and inventory levels along with analysing data to ensure purchasing is completed aligned to sales and budgetary requirements.
This role is primarily responsible for the purchasing of goods and maintaining inventory levels of manufactured and imported stock.
Purchasing Responsibilities:
- Development of raw material and finished goods reports
- Creating POs in unleashed
- Manage purchasing in line with last 12 months sale history
- Creation of PO’s in unleashed
- 3+6 months reporting
- Ensure Budgets are met within the required $ value before raising any PO
- Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase, pricing and delivery records
- Management of shipping documentation
- Reviewing delivery dockets against the original PO
- Responsible for management of delivery
- Monitoring of MHQ & MRO
- Managing price increases from suppliers
- Preparing budgets, cost analyses, and reports
- Responsible for managing warranty returns with suppliers
- Ensure data accuracy is maintained within all reporting
- Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
- Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts
Inventory Control Responsibilities
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures and policies
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure accuracy, adequacy, and timeliness of stock availability
- Conduct regular stock audits, and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy
- Analyse inventory data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement
- Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and recommend appropriate action
- Ensure compliance with inventory management best practices and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to manage receiving, storage, and inventory distribution
- Follow estimates for production
- Ensure assemblies are created and updated as production completes any of our manufacturing stock
- Ensure everything is costed correctly in Unleashed, from inventory to PO receipting.
- Report of products needed for clearance/discounting
- Work with the team when cycle counts are not being met
- Diagnosing and defining the root cause of any cycle count inaccuracy, system to physical, location variance and unleashed locations from warehouse Melbourne to sale warehouses
About you:
You will bring with you a good degree of competency across all phases of Purchasing and Inventory.
You will be IT savvy as the client uses Xero (Accounting), Unleashed (Inventory) as their inventory management and MachShip (Shipping) to maximise efficiency.
Based on your past experiences you will have a demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
You will possess strong written and verbal communication skills with a can do attitude.
Key requirements:
- Experience working within a manufacturing, distribution and or similar office environment
- Have used Inventory Management software like deer or unleashed or other ERP’s
- Purchasing experience as above
- Inventory experience as above
- Work autonomously and demonstrate a strong ability to deliver to expectations of requirements
- Be able to demonstrate Leadership and Accountability showcasing strong work ethic, professionalism, and a positive attitude
- Have the ability to speak with clients across a variety of industries and backgrounds
- Excellent communication both written and verbal
