A little about the role:
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Customs Broker will join our Melbourne based team to manage the arrangement and approval of all freight clearances.
Your knowledge of regulatory and legislative requirements needs to be comprehensive to ensure that our customs procedures are abided by at all times.

More specifically, you will:
- Work with shippers etc. to execute bookings etc.
- Timely management of multiple lines of communication between suppliers, shippers, customers and internal parties, maintaining details, and relaying pertinent information to appropriate parties
- Responsible for import and export customs declarations and working closely with all relevant authorities for all customs related matters
- Ensure that customs clearance are achieved within agreed specific customer service standards
- Liaise with regulatory bodies to develop positive working relationships to ensure compliance
- Generate, file, and maintain up-to-date customer records, reports, documentation, databases, etc.
A little about you:
You will have experience working as a Customs broker for a logistics, forwarding or supply chain organisation.
This role will suit someone who enjoys coming to work and doing something a little bit different every day. We are looking for a customer focused person who also has good coordination/admin skills.
You will be the kind of person who thrives in autonomy and also working as a part of the larger team.
You will be professional, and an exceptional communicator who can deliver a high standard of customer service.
Key requirements:
- Fully Accredited licensed Customs Broker – Mandatory requirement
- AQIS accredited preferred
- Exposure to CyberFreight software advantageous if not you will be trained
- Enjoy working on challenging and complicated customs and trade related matters
- Eager to learn and develop his/her skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholder
- High level of computer literacy and communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to prioritise workload with superior attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills & a desire to work in a deadline driven environment
- Calm & personable with ability to work well under pressure within a fast-paced environment
- Friendly conscientious Self-starter with ability to learn new systems
- Reliable Flexible and adaptable nature with a strong work ethic
- Ability to think laterally and find quick & effective solutions to problems
