About the role:

A fantastic opportunity to join a boutique accounting firm located in Melbourne as an Accountant.
Reporting to the Senior Manager you will be responsible for completing the work delegated to you by the Senior Manager.

As the Accountant you must be technically proficient and up to date with developments in taxation law and accounting standards, systems and processes. The Accountant will take full responsibility and ownership of the completion of allocated jobs and is effectively responsible for managing their own workflow under the direction of your Manager.

More specifically, you will:

• Working with a range of SME clients as well as high net wealth individuals and superannuation funds
• Preparation of individual, partnership, company, trust and self-managed superannuation funds tax returns and financial statements
• Preparation of Fringe Benefits Tax Returns
• Liaising with the ATO and other regulatory agencies on behalf of clients
• Liaising with clients regarding tax matters
• Assisting the team to meet workload requirements and key deadlines, as well as acting on feedback from reviewed processing
• Active contribution in team meetings and to a positive team/office culture
• Involving with other accounting/administrative duties as required

About you:

We are looking for an Accountant that has a bachelor of accounting or working towards etc.

You will have good interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with your team and clients is essential if you are to be successful in this role.

You are someone who can is accountable who has the ability to manage your own workflow to ensure job turnaround in the timeframes allotted.

We are looking for someone who is keen to prove themselves so they can move up to a Senior Accountant position!

Key requirements:

• Ability to speak with clients across a variety of industries and backgrounds
• Xero PM experience
• Minimum 1-2 years experience in a professional accounting practice
• Good technical tax compliance skills and knowledge
• Bachelor of accounting or working towards
• Ability to build, manage and maintain client relationships
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise work duties to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication both written and verbal
